Sue Ure at Feather Edge Contemporary Tableware

Sue Ure

Sue Ure began learning to throw during her A level studies and was immediately captivated, opting to take up an apprenticeship with renowned potter, Emmanuel Cooper, before continuing her formal education with a degree in Ceramics and Ancient History. The latter sparked a lifelong interest in ancient artefacts and design and a love of learning which continues to influence and inform her work today.

A native Londoner, Sue found herself increasingly drawn to rural life and in the 1990s moved to the sunnier climes of south-western France which has had a noticeable impact on her palette. Today, Sue divides her time between undertaking private commissions, designing and making work for her Ceramics collection and collaborating with other artisans to further develop the Sue Ure Maison range.
