Feather Edge takes its name from the elegant feather-like pattern devised by 18th century silversmiths to edge the handles of fine cutlery. The care these craftsmen took to create unique and desirable work reflects the vision for Feather Edge - a contemporary collection of beautifully handcrafted pieces for your table and home.
For me it’s the culmination of a dream - I can’t remember a time when I’ve not been drawn to pottery, from venturing out onto the South Downs to dig for shards as a child, to studying Classical Art and Architecture and specialising in Athenian pottery at uni. A career in marketing followed, but I continued to collect as a hobby and when I married a chef and we had a family our table literally became the heart of our home - a place to gather, enjoy good food, share stories and use familiar objects.
Today, we work with the modern day equivalents of those silversmiths - dedicated makers designing and crafting exceptional wares - to bring you a unique collection of tableware and home accessories. You can hear their stories and learn more about their inspiration and work by visiting our Makers page.
If you prefer to shop in person please visit us at the lovely showroom of handcrafted kitchen specialists Charter Walk Kitchen Living where you can view and purchase a wide range of pieces - find us at No. 1 Charter Walk, Haslemere, Surrey, GU27 2AD. I hope you enjoy browsing the site - we commission and buy in small batches and aim to bring you new and interesting work on a regular basis. Several of our makers offer bespoke design services via Feather Edge so please get in touch if you would like to find out more about having something made.
